Focusing its collection on works from America, and more specifically art from the region surrounding Texas, including northern Mexico, the Art Museum of South Texas has a permanent store of more than 1,300 art works. Special exhibitions of art highlight both works of American art and pieces with a more regional focus, and a diverse offering of classes for adults and children allow a deeper look into the art displayed. The art museum is located on the Corpus Christi Bay at Bayfront Science Park, near other educational museums including the Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History and the Texas State Museum of Asian Cultures & Education Center.
